westcoast impressions: rocks and waterDorothy says, "The North Shore of Greater Vancouver, where I have lived for 30 years, has been a great inspiration for my work. Living on the forested North Vancouver mountain-side, I have always loved watching the water cascade down the creeks. I try to capture in my work the way light and water play on boulders and rocks, the way the water washing over them highlights their colours and textures. With mixed media of Prismacolour on an oil base I use the pencil colours to reflect the energy of the scene and the flow of water."
